Brief:
The objective of this ten week project was to design a multigenerational row home in South Philadelphia. The main design considerations were carrying through the datum lines from the adjacent houses. Access to light was a big consideration and factored heavily into the design, as our sight was very large for a typical row home, so areas at the interior of the home had the potential to be very dark. This is what inspired the sawtooth roof and the large front and rear windows. Another focus was on certain details within the home. The two I focused on were the stair detail, and the window detail.
